Michael McGuire, M.A.
Founder, McGuire Counseling and Psychotherapy
Michael McGuire is a licensed addictions and trauma therapist with a Master’s degree, specializing in work with adults and adolescents. He integrates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) to help clients heal from the effects of trauma and addiction.
With both professional expertise and personal experience in recovery, Michael brings deep empathy and understanding to his work. He is passionate about helping clients break free from limiting patterns and create lives rooted in authenticity, connection, and fulfillment.
Michael and his wife, Annie, co-founded McGuire Counseling and Psychotherapy to provide a compassionate, evidence-based space for healing and growth. Together, they are dedicated to supporting teens, adults, and families on their recovery journeys.
Annie McGuire, M.A., LMHC
Co-Founder, McGuire Counseling and Psychotherapy
Annie McGuire is a licensed mental health counselor with over a decade of experience in the behavioral health field. Her background includes a range of clinical and leadership roles, including Clinical Director, before opening her private practice in 2017. Annie’s work in acute mental health and addiction treatment has shaped her caring, trauma-informed approach.
She specializes in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, offering an affirming and supportive space to explore identity, expression, and healing. Certified in both the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) and the Dignity Model, Annie helps clients resolve trauma and foster self-acceptance and resilience.
Annie and her husband, Michael, combine their shared passion for helping others through McGuire Counseling and Psychotherapy, where they work collaboratively to support individuals, couples, and families seeking lasting change.
Jonathan Davis, MSW
Registered Social Work Intern
Jonathan is a behavioral health clinician dedicated to helping individuals overcome emotional challenges, strengthen resilience, and make meaningful progress toward personal growth. He provides care through a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centered lens, ensuring every client feels supported and heard.
Jonathan works with adults and teens facing anxiety, depression, trauma, major life transitions, behavioral challenges, and barriers related to self-esteem, identity, or daily functioning. His experience includes individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and coordinated care within multidisciplinary treatment settings.
He earned his Master of Social Work (MSW) from Florida State University and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Cum Laude, from the University of North Florida. Jonathan has provided care across various behavioral health environments, including community mental health, outpatient therapy, and telehealth services.
...Jonathan integrates multiple evidence-based modalities in his practice, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy. He has facilitated therapeutic groups focused on emotional regulation, boundaries, men’s mental health, and recovery support.
Jonathan believes healing is a collaborative process and that people can thrive when they are met with empathy, consistency, and genuine connection. He is passionate about helping clients rediscover confidence, purpose, and hope—especially during seasons of transition or adversity.
Outside of the therapy room, Jonathan finds balance through family time and personal passions. He enjoys music, skateboarding, surfing, motorcycle riding, and making memories with his wife and six children. These creative and active outlets keep him grounded and aligned with his belief in living authentically and wholeheartedly.
Lauren Pfanenstiel, MSW
Registered Social Work Intern
Lauren is a behavioral health clinician who works with children, teens, adults, and families facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, motivation issues, school and peer stress, and relationship concerns. Her therapeutic style is grounded in authenticity, humor, and courage—creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel understood, valued, and empowered to grow.
Lauren focuses on helping clients strengthen confidence, communication, and emotional regulation while developing practical tools to navigate everyday obstacles. She is experienced in supporting young people through academic pressures, social dynamics, and family changes, as well as guiding adults through life transitions and personal growth.
Holding a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Florida State University and bringing a strong background in nonprofit leadership, Lauren also provides career counseling and leadership coaching. She enjoys helping professionals overcome workplace challenges, reduce burnout, and align their goals with their personal values.
Across all her work, Lauren leads with empathy, honesty, and collaboration. She believes every client has inherent strengths—and she is committed to helping them discover those strengths so they can move forward with clarity, resilience, and confidence.
